Finance Officer – Budgeting and Reporting

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Finance Officer focused on budgeting and reporting to support its humanitarian programs. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will ensure day‑to‑day accounting operations align with IRC policies, donor requirements, and GAAP.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily budgeting activities and donor review meetings.
• Implement financial policies and procedures related to donor budgets and reporting.
• Collaborate with field finance leads to develop and upload spending plans and budget revisions in the Integra system.
• Coordinate with the Grants team to schedule meetings, provide corrective feedback, and monitor budget versus actual performance.
• Offer training to finance and program staff on budgeting and spend‑plan preparation.
• Review partner financial reports for accuracy, post expenses in Integra, and conduct spot reviews.
• Manage sub‑award processes, including creation of partner Integra IDs and related CTRs.
• Prepare and upload budget templates, assign financial dimensions, and ensure compliance with IRC guidelines.

Required profile

• Experience in finance or accounting with a focus on budgeting and donor reporting.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Ability to work closely with field finance leads, grants teams, and program staff.
• Detail‑oriented with a commitment to compliance and accurate financial reporting.
