Finance Officer

About the role

The Finance Officer provides essential financial support to ensure accurate processing of payments, proper accounting entries, and timely preparation of financial reports. This role contributes to the smooth operation of the finance department by handling tax returns, reconciliations, and budget monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Process payments and post accounting entries in the system.
• Prepare financial information for monthly reporting packs and income statements.
• Capture journal entries to recognize revenue, expenses, assets, and liabilities.
• Verify assets and IT equipment annually for accuracy.
• Reconcile all General Ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
• Process invoices through the procurement system and follow up with approvers.
• Resolve payment‑related queries and provide proof of payment when needed.
• Monitor performance against budgets and advise stakeholders.
• Prepare and submit monthly tax returns and reconcile tax control accounts.

Required profile

• First degree in Finance or Accounting from a recognised institution.
• At least 2 years of experience in a finance environment.
• Competence in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of financial accounting principles and costing, budgeting, and finance concepts.
