Sales Account Executive – Western Region

About the role
SoundThinking is looking for a Sales Account Executive to lead new‑business development across small and medium law‑enforcement agencies in the Western Region. The role owns the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing, and serves as a trusted advisor to city, county and tribal agencies.
Key responsibilities
- Own the end‑to‑end sales process for small‑ and medium‑jurisdiction accounts, including prospecting, qualification, demos, proposals, negotiations and closures.
- Develop and execute a structured territory plan that targets high‑potential agencies, identifies whitespace and drives new‑logo acquisition, cross‑selling and expansion.
- Generate pipeline through disciplined prospecting, inbound follow‑up, conference engagement and coordination with Customer Success, Lead Generation and Marketing teams.
- Maintain accurate forecast and pipeline hygiene in Salesforce with regular reporting to sales leadership.
- Conduct discovery‑focused consultative selling, delivering value‑based presentations that link SoundThinking’s SafetySmart™ platform to measurable public‑safety outcomes.
- Navigate complex public‑sector procurement cycles, including RFP/RFI responses and sole‑source justifications.
Required profile
- Proven ability to prospect and manage a sales pipeline independently, preferably in a remote environment.
- Experience selling to public‑sector customers, especially law‑enforcement agencies.
- Strong consultative selling and advisory skills, with a focus on understanding agency needs, budgets and community priorities.
- Comfort with complex public‑sector procurement processes.
