Are you a high-performing sales professional with a passion for the timber industry? We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven External Sales Manager to take full ownership of a thriving North-East territory. This is a high-impact, field-based role designed for a hunter who excels at identifying early-stage opportunities and converting strategic conversations into long-term commercial success.

Missions principales

  • Manage and optimize your assigned territory by balancing high-level account management with aggressive new business development.
  • Identify and penetrate new market segments, including timber merchants, garden structure manufacturers, joinery producers, and related construction sectors.
  • Conduct regular site visits to proactively identify upcoming projects and emerging market opportunities.
  • Prepare and present competitive commercial proposals in close collaboration with internal technical and pricing teams.
  • Negotiate complex pricing, contracts, and terms to maximize margins and long-term value.
  • Provide expert technical advice regarding timber species, treatments, and structural applications.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and price fluctuations to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Collaborate closely with operations to ensure seamless delivery and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Profil recherché

  • Proven track record in external sales specifically within the timber or building materials sector.
  • Deep technical knowledge of softwood products and their applications.
  • Natural ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a sharp understanding of pricing structures and profit margins.
  • Proactive, highly organized, and capable of managing a demanding field-based schedule.
  • Demonstrated expertise in prospecting, pipeline management, and closing complex deals.
