Accounts Assistant

About the role

We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our finance team at Sound Collective Ltd, a manufacturing and warehousing company in Kampala. The role will support day‑to‑day financial operations, ensuring accurate records and timely processing of transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, journal entries and general ledger.
• Process supplier invoices, payments and customer invoices, and follow up on overdue receivables.
• Perform bank, cash and inventory reconciliations and support stock counts.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and cash‑flow statements.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and product costing analysis.
• Prepare statutory tax returns (VAT, PAYE, NSSF) and support external audits.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls and Ugandan accounting standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
• 1–2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Ugandan tax regulations and inventory costing.
• Strong analytical, numerical and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
