Before/Aftercare Staff – Central Denison Elementary (Part‑Time)

About the role

Under the supervision of the School‑Age Child Care & Preschool Director, the before/after‑care staff member provides safe, engaging supervision for children at Central Denison Elementary. This school‑year position requires approximately 22.5 hours per week, covering morning (6:30‑8:30 AM) and afternoon (3:30‑6 PM) sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise children aged 3‑12 in before‑ and after‑school care programs, ensuring safety and adherence to YMCA and school policies.
• Plan and deliver daily activities that provide meaningful learning and engagement for participants.
• Communicate professionally with elementary school staff, parents, and directors regarding program matters and any emergencies.
• Maintain clean, organized program spaces and follow emergency procedures at all times.

Required profile

• Minimum age of 16 years.
• Strong interest in child development and ability to serve as a positive role model.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Completion of required child‑abuse prevention courses and CPR certification (within 30 days of hire).
• Pass an FBI fingerprint background check prior to start date.
