Business Teacher (Grades 9-12) – 2026-27

About the role

The district seeks a dedicated Business Teacher for grades 9‑12 for the 2026‑27 academic year. The teacher will design and deliver engaging business curriculum, fostering intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth of students.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and Texas Education Agency standards, accommodating diverse learning styles.
• Assess student progress through formal and informal testing, and adjust instruction based on results.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per Individual Education Plans.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers, and sponsor approved extracurricular activities.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment, manage behavior according to the Student Code of Conduct, and ensure safety of students and materials.
• Communicate regularly with parents, principals, and staff through conferences and updates.
• Participate in professional development and staff meetings, and comply with district policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements for business education.
• Strong knowledge of the assigned subjects and general curriculum instruction.
• Ability to manage classroom behavior and support student development.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
