Coffee Trainee Program

About the role

Volcafe is offering a two‑year, full‑time trainee programme focused on the coffee supply chain. The programme starts at Kyagalanyi Coffee Limited in Uganda and includes global rotations to develop expertise across sourcing, production, quality, trading, logistics, sustainability and finance.

Key responsibilities

• Complete core and elective rotation modules in sourcing/purchasing, production operations, quality control, trading, logistics, sustainability and finance.
• Work closely with a programme sponsor and a network of expert mentors to acquire practical knowledge and business acumen.
• Participate in real‑world projects, data analysis and reporting tasks relevant to each functional area.
• Prepare for final graduation and subsequent placement within Volcafe’s chosen functional field.

Required profile

• BA or MBA in Business, Finance, Economics or International Trade from a recognised institution.
• Strong analytical and research abilities.
• Business‑level English (verbal and written).
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Citizen or permanent resident of Uganda, Tanzania or Kenya.
• Valid passport with unrestricted global travel.
• Willingness to relocate internationally on short notice and work flexible hours, including shift patterns during harvest periods.
