Communications Officer (Uganda)

About the role

The Communications Officer will tell the story of CorpsAfrica Uganda, raise its visibility and engage key audiences through strategic communications, digital content, media relations and field documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement communications strategies to raise awareness of CorpsAfrica Uganda.
• Research, write, edit and produce a range of materials such as news stories, newsletters, press releases, reports and fact sheets.
• Manage digital channels including the website, newsletter and social media, creating campaigns, graphics, photos and videos.
• Maintain media relationships, handle inquiries and ensure brand consistency across all communications.
• Document field activities through photography and videography, traveling to volunteer communities to capture stories.
• Support internal communications, event promotion and volunteer recruitment outreach.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing or a related field.
• At least three years of professional communications experience, including storytelling and media engagement.
• Strong written and editorial skills with ability to produce clear, engaging content for diverse audiences.
• Willingness to travel regularly within Uganda and work collaboratively with volunteers and community partners.

Required skills

• Photography and videography for field documentation.
• Graphic design using Canva, Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator.
• Social media management and content creation.
• Website content management and newsletter production.
