Digital Audio Ad Tech Specialist

About the role

A leading regional media organization is building East Africa's first digital audio super‑app, aggregating radio livestreams, podcasts, and audiobooks. The specialist will design and operate the ad‑tech infrastructure that powers programmatic audio advertising for the Q4 2026 launch.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain the platform's core ad‑tech infrastructure from scratch.
• Lead technical setups for Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI), VAST/DAAST protocols, and DSP/SSP integrations with real‑time bidding capabilities.
• Build robust audience targeting frameworks using listener data, behavior, and analytics.
• Manage technical integrations with partner radio stations and contribute technical insights to the product roadmap.
• Implement campaign tracking, attribution modeling, and measurement tools to deliver reliable analytics.

Required profile

• Hands‑on technical experience in digital audio, programmatic media, or ad‑tech ecosystems.
• In‑depth knowledge of VAST/DAAST standards, Dynamic Ad Insertion, and modern ad‑serving platforms.
• Solid understanding of DSP/SSP architecture, RTB workflows, and programmatic audio infrastructure.
• Based in Kenya or Uganda with an understanding of regional media technology infrastructure.
