Equipment Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Equipment Manager to lead the planning, utilisation and maintenance of heavy machinery for our construction projects in Kampala. The role ensures that equipment is available, reliable and cost‑effective, supporting timely project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate the allocation of heavy equipment across multiple construction sites.
• Monitor equipment performance, schedule repairs and control operating costs to maximise asset lifespan.
• Ensure compliance with maintenance schedules, safety regulations and operational standards.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance history and cost tracking.
• Collaborate with project managers, site engineers and procurement to forecast equipment needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy equipment or fleet management, preferably within the construction industry.
• Proven ability to manage large equipment inventories and oversee maintenance programmes.
