Finance Officer – Budgeting and Reporting

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Finance Officer focused on budgeting and reporting to support its humanitarian programmes. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will ensure day‑to‑day accounting operations align with IRC policies, donor requirements and GAAP standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in daily budgeting activities and prepare for donor review meetings.
• Implement financial policies and procedures related to donor budgets and reporting.
• Collaborate with field finance leads to develop and upload spending plans and budget revisions in the Integra system.
• Support sub‑award management, including reviewing partner financial reports and posting expenses.
• Provide training to finance and program teams on budgeting and spend‑plan preparation.
• Monitor budget performance, prepare variance analyses and recommend corrective actions.

Required profile

• Experience in financial management within an international or non‑profit setting.
• Strong understanding of donor budgeting processes and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work closely with cross‑functional teams and field offices.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.
• Budget management and financial reporting expertise.
