Head Teacher

About the role

The Head Teacher will lead Jasper Primary School‑Nyairongo, overseeing daily operations and ensuring a safe, inclusive, high‑quality learning environment. This full‑time, on‑site role combines academic leadership with administrative management to drive the school’s project‑based, learner‑centered vision.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor and evaluate teaching staff, fostering modern pedagogy and digital tool usage.
• Guide curriculum planning and implementation, emphasizing project‑based and learner‑centered approaches.
• Collaborate with school management and community stakeholders to align activities with the school’s vision and values.
• Monitor student progress, coordinate interventions for diverse learning needs, and ensure compliance with educational standards.
• Lead staff development initiatives, promoting continuous professional growth and innovative teaching methods.

Required profile

• Recognized teaching qualification/certification in Primary Education and/or Early Childhood Development.
• Relevant experience as a teacher in a primary or ECD setting, with additional experience in school leadership or coordination.
• Strong knowledge of teaching, learning, learner assessment and school administration.
• Proficiency in Runyoro or another locally spoken Bantu language and ability to communicate effectively with learners, parents and community members.
• Commitment to inclusive, child‑centered, community‑based education and willingness to reside in Nyairongo Village.

• Salary: UGX 400,000 – 500,000 per month.
