Infrastructure Support Specialist – IT Operations

About the role

The Infrastructure Support Specialist will ensure the smooth operation of desktop, print, ATM and voice services for Absa Group in Uganda. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting a range of hardware and software solutions that support end‑user productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Install, upgrade, configure and troubleshoot desktop operating systems and applications such as Microsoft Office.
• Manage Microsoft Exchange, PGP encryption, Flexcube, Symantec Antivirus and file‑print services.
• Support peripheral devices including phones, printers, scanners, faxes, card and PIN systems.
• Monitor server and resource performance, execute preventive and corrective actions, and ensure up‑to‑date antivirus protection.
• Provide second‑line support for end‑user hardware and ATM equipment, adhering to change‑management procedures.
• Participate in UAT/OAT for end‑user installations and enforce information‑security guidelines.

Required profile

• Mid‑level professional with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities for complex live business issues.
• Ability to work independently on‑site and collaborate with IT teams.
