IT Assistant – Full-Time

About the role

We are looking for a proactive IT Assistant to join Ruby Hospital’s operations team in Kampala. The role involves ensuring the hospital’s digital infrastructure runs smoothly so clinical and administrative staff can focus on patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain the hospital’s computer network and internet connectivity.
• Install, configure, and maintain computers, laptops, printers, scanners, TVs and other IT equipment.
• Diagnose and repair hardware and software problems.
• Provide technical support to hospital staff and resolve IT issues promptly.
• Install and update operating systems, software and antivirus programs.
• Configure user accounts, email accounts and system access.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all IT equipment.
• Assist in the maintenance of CCTV systems, biometric devices and other digital systems.
• Maintain an inventory of IT assets and equipment.
• Ensure data security, backups and compliance with hospital IT policies.
• Liaise with external service providers for repairs and maintenance when required.
• Document IT support requests and maintenance activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 months of relevant IT support experience or recent graduate.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.
