IT Techno-Functional Manager – SAP S/4HANA & ABAP Development

About the role

We are looking for an IT Techno‑Functional Manager to lead the design, implementation and ongoing management of SAP S/4HANA solutions in Kampala. The role combines deep technical expertise with functional insight to ensure the SAP landscape supports business objectives and digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end SAP S/4HANA implementation, configuration, custom ABAP development and integration with external systems such as tax, CRM and banking platforms.
• Design, optimise and maintain SAP modules (SD, MM, PP, FI, QM, SuccessFactors) ensuring stability, scalability and compliance with SAP standards.
• Drive project delivery across all phases – requirements gathering, design, go‑live and post‑implementation support – using agile practices.
• Provide functional and technical support, performance tuning, debugging and troubleshooting of complex issues.
• Manage stakeholder relationships, vendor coordination and change‑management processes.
• Oversee SAP security, authorisations, segregation of duties and audit compliance.
• Lead data migration, master‑data governance and reporting enhancements, including EDI and API‑gateway configurations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; SAP certification or postgraduate qualification is a plus.
• Minimum 8 years of SAP experience covering functional and technical roles, with at least one full‑cycle implementation.
• Strong knowledge of Uganda tax regulations and EFRIS integration.
• Proven leadership, communication and organisational skills.
