About the role

The Department of Architecture and Physical Planning at Makerere University seeks a dedicated Lecturer to join its academic team. This full‑time position involves teaching, supervising research, and contributing to the department’s growth through outreach and funding initiatives.

Key responsibilities

Teach, examine and grade undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Supervise student research projects and theses.
Mentor junior staff members.
Conduct research and community outreach activities.
Write proposals to attract funding for departmental projects.
Perform any other official duties assigned by the Head of Department.

Required profile

PhD in Architecture or a related Built Environment field.
Master’s degree in a Built Environment specialty (e.g., Architecture, Landscape Design, Interior Design, Construction Management, Real Estate Management).
Honours Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
Minimum three years of relevant experience (approximately 36 months).
