About the role
The Department of Law and Jurisprudence at Makerere University is seeking a full‑time Lecturer to join its academic team in Kampala. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research and community outreach, supporting the department’s mission to advance legal scholarship and development.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, conduct examinations and grade student work.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
- Mentor junior academic staff and provide guidance on pedagogical matters.
- Carry out independent research and engage in community outreach activities.
- Prepare and submit funding proposals to attract resources for the department.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the Head of Department.
Required profile
- PhD (or LLD) in Law with a focus on Law and Development.
- Master of Laws (LLM) degree.
- Honours Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree.
