Port Operations Maintenance Superintendent

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Port Operations Maintenance Superintendent to lead daily maintenance activities for a U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role ensures the reliability and safety of port infrastructure, supporting vessel movements and operational readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance of piers, fender systems, bollards, mooring equipment, and small‑boat facilities.
• Schedule, coordinate, and supervise maintenance teams for repairs, inspections, and preventive tasks.
• Manage work orders, maintenance logs, material usage, and documentation in line with Navy standards.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify deficiencies, safety hazards, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and logistics to support port readiness.
• Maintain accountability of tools, equipment, and materials.
• Support emergency response actions, including storm preparation and equipment failures.
• Provide guidance to personnel to ensure safe and compliant task execution.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in port operations, facility or industrial maintenance, or related technical environments.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in maintenance management, marine operations, or engineering is preferred.
• Ability to read, speak, and comprehend English for contract performance and emergency procedures.
• Valid passport (minimum one year) and ability to obtain required visas and facility credentials.
• Pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout deployment.

Required skills

• Experience with marine or waterfront maintenance.
• Familiarity with Navy port standards and inspection procedures.
• Leadership and team supervision abilities.
