Recovery Agent

About the role

The Recovery Agent will manage a portfolio of overdue accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts while maintaining positive customer relationships. You will work closely with clients to negotiate payment plans, handle disputes, and support legal actions when required.

Key responsibilities

• Manage an assigned portfolio of overdue accounts and recover payments efficiently.
• Issue demand notices, follow up on overdue accounts, and take recovery actions in line with company policies.
• Facilitate the recovery and impoundment of assets, recording them in branch inventory and tracking in real time.
• Negotiate realistic repayment arrangements and monitor adherence to payment plans.
• Handle customer engagements, complaints, and disputes professionally.
• Maintain accurate records of communications, negotiations, and case developments in the CRM system.
• Collaborate with branch teams, head‑office recovery, legal, and other stakeholders for escalations and complex cases.
• Review payment histories and recommend lease terminations or other actions as needed.
• Provide regular reports on recovery performance, asset recovery, and portfolio status.
• Support court and legal proceedings by preparing documentation and attending hearings when required.

Required profile

• Diploma or higher qualification.
• At least 1 year of experience in debt recovery, credit control, or a similar role (preferred).
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Knowledge of relevant debt recovery regulations and company policies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM systems for case management and documentation.
