Recreation Services Manager

About the role

Amentum is looking for a Recreation Services Manager to lead morale, welfare and recreation (MWR) programs for a U.S. Navy installation. The role ensures safe, engaging and high‑quality leisure activities for service members and their families while maintaining compliance with Navy and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage resale operations and recreational programs to meet the needs of the military community.
• Ensure compliance with CNICINST 1710.3 Chapter 1 Section 114 for hazardous material handling and maintain current CPR certification for relevant staff.
• Train employees on Navy MWR Star Service standards and the AECR customer‑service course.
• Provide on‑call availability within one hour for emergencies and act as a certified American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Instructor.
• Officiate sports such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, softball and flag football, guaranteeing fair play and league quality.
• Plan and promote diverse recreational events for personnel and families to boost participation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance MWR initiatives and monitor facility usage.
• Oversee budgets, financial records and resource allocation to ensure fiscal responsibility.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience in recreation, leisure or MWR program management.
• Current CPR certification and ability to serve as an American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Instructor.
• Availability during regular hours and ability to respond to emergencies within one hour.
• Strong knowledge of Navy MWR guidelines and hazardous material regulations.
