Resident Service Engineer – Night Shift / Weekend

About the role

Packsize is seeking a Resident Service Engineer to work night‑shift and weekend schedules at customer sites. The engineer will install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot Packsize equipment, providing hands‑on support and training to ensure optimal machine performance.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and perform service tasks at designated customer facilities.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues using technical drawings and documentation.
• Collaborate with R&D, Software and Quality Engineering teams.
• Conduct routine maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Analyze customer KPIs to identify performance trends and drive corrective actions.
• Install Packsize solutions and deliver comprehensive training.
• Handle clerical duties such as email correspondence, expense reporting, travel arrangements and technical reporting.
• Communicate clearly with both Packsize and customer personnel.
• Follow all safety protocols related to moving parts and electricity.
• Operate the machine: clear jams, load Z‑fold, change labels, replace bander paper and add glue.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service orientation.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Associates degree, vocational training or equivalent experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Excellent work ethic and time‑management skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Windows platforms.
• Effective use of hand tools.
• Understanding of mechanical platforms.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Familiarity with Google Sheets and Docs (optional).
