Senior Cancer Service Manager

About the Role

As a Senior Cancer Service Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the implementation of the National Cancer Agenda within the Trust. You will act as a strategic leader, ensuring excellence in patient pathways and strict adherence to national waiting time standards through high-level collaboration with the Cancer Alliance and Trust leadership.

Main Missions

• Lead the strategic and operational implementation of the National Cancer Agenda and the Trust's cancer strategy.
• Provide expert consultancy to optimize patient care pathways and ensure equitable, high-quality service delivery.
• Oversee the validation of performance data in compliance with national guidelines and COSD requirements.
• Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team, including Data Capture Systems Managers, FDS Managers, and Team Leaders, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Drive continuous service improvement programs aligned with regional and national priorities, integrating patient co-production.
• Negotiate and influence stakeholders to implement necessary changes and resolve complex operational conflicts.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in healthcare management, specifically within cancer services or complex patient pathways.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams and prioritize workloads effectively.
• Expertise in data validation, performance monitoring, and compliance with national healthcare standards.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of influencing senior stakeholders.
• Strategic thinker with a focus on operational efficiency and quality improvement.
