Senior FreeCAD Engineer (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior FreeCAD Engineer to join our remote team on a contract basis. You will be responsible for creating high‑quality parametric CAD models and mechanical assemblies that meet strict project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Create, modify, and validate detailed parametric CAD models in FreeCAD.
• Develop and optimize mechanical assemblies using best‑practice design and integration techniques.
• Apply GD&T and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to ensure manufacturability and quality.
• Generate precise technical drawings and documentation for engineering review and downstream processes.
• Conduct engineering QA reviews of CAD models and drawings, identifying and communicating issues.
• Utilize Python scripting to automate repetitive or complex modeling tasks (preferred).
• Collaborate with the team, providing feedback on model accuracy, design intent, and process improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering, product design, or a related field with a focus on parametric CAD modeling.
• Advanced proficiency in FreeCAD or an equivalent parametric CAD platform.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design fundamentals, including GD&T and DFM best practices.
• Proven ability to produce comprehensive technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
• Experience conducting engineering QA and verifying model integrity against specifications.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills for remote, project‑based collaboration.
