Treasury Operations Officer

About the role

The Treasury Operations Officer safeguards Absa Uganda’s balance‑sheet integrity and market credibility by ensuring accurate, timely, and controlled settlement of Treasury transactions. Working in the Treasury back‑office, the role supports money‑market, fixed‑income, FX and investment activities while adhering to internal controls and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Capture, approve and authorise Treasury transactions in designated systems within approved limits.
• Monitor online and Front Arena workflows to meet service‑level agreements.
• Settle trades in Front Arena, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Validate deal details, currencies, counterparties and rates against source documentation.
• Generate, distribute and upload mid‑rates, customer rates, branch rates, TV rates, closing and weekend rates.
• Monitor Nostro account balances and provide liquidity advice.

Required profile

• Mid‑level experience (minimum 36 months) in Treasury operations or a related finance function.
• Strong understanding of internal controls, regulatory requirements and market standards.
• Ability to work independently, verify data and maintain audit integrity.
