After School Teacher & Assistant – Part‑Time

About the role

The Main Street Academy is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join its after‑school program as a Teacher and Assistant on a part‑time basis. You will work Monday‑Thursday providing homework help and Friday delivering enrichment activities in a safe, organized environment for students in grades K‑8.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise students throughout the program, ensuring safety and adherence to policies.
• Organise students into homework and activity groups each day.
• Assist students with homework, verify completion, and circulate to support learning.
• Plan, research, and lead enrichment activities, including field trips and classroom projects.
• Escort students to activity locations, restrooms, and pick‑up areas when needed.
• Record daily attendance and maintain accurate reports (daily, weekly, quarterly).
• Distribute snacks, complete snack reports, and keep the work area clean.
• Maintain and track supplies, tools, and equipment.
• Support the Program Director with various administrative tasks.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work with children in grades K‑8.
• Experience providing homework assistance or tutoring in an after‑school or enrichment setting.
• Positive attitude and ability to build professional relationships with students, parents, and staff.
