Agent Operations Territory Lead

About the role

We are looking for an Agent Operations Territory Lead to drive user growth and manage our network of agents in the Mbarara region. You will lead a team of distributors, oversee agent onboarding, ensure compliance, and maintain liquidity to support Wave’s mission of a cash‑less Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure agents meet legal and policy requirements, have valid contracts, receive training, and are properly branded with necessary supplies.
• Coordinate cash and e‑value availability with the Liquidity team, monitoring agent balances and replenishment.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and field visits, reporting performance against targets and identifying emerging issues.
• Identify under‑performing agents, troubleshoot problems, recover equipment, and manage agent churn.
• Serve as the primary contact for the agency network, driving operational excellence, cost control, and regulatory compliance.
• Coach, train and mentor the distribution team to deliver high‑quality customer service and achieve market impact.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a team of 7‑10 distributors or field agents.
• Background in financial services, mobile payments or related sectors.
• Strong understanding of compliance, risk management and cash‑flow operations.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to travel frequently within the territory.
