About the role
The Department of Public and Comparative Law at Makerere University seeks an Assistant Lecturer to join its teaching and research team. This full‑time position involves delivering high‑quality instruction, supervising student research, and contributing to the department’s academic outreach.
Key responsibilities
- Teach, examine and grade undergraduate and postgraduate students in public and comparative law subjects.
- Supervise student research projects and theses, providing academic guidance and feedback.
- Mentor junior staff members, supporting their professional development.
- Conduct research and engage in community outreach activities related to the department’s focus areas.
- Write proposals to attract external funding and resources for departmental initiatives.
- Perform any other official duties assigned by the Head of Department.
Required profile
- Master of Laws (LL.M.) specializing in Civil Litigation.
- At least an upper second class Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from a reputable university or institution.
