About the role
IMPACT Initiatives is seeking an Associate Research Manager to lead research activities focused on Ethiopia while being based in Kampala. The role supports the REACH Initiative, providing data‑driven insights for humanitarian programmes.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee data collection, management and analysis for Ethiopia‑related projects.
- Conduct GIS mapping and remote‑sensing analyses to monitor socio‑political dynamics.
- Prepare research reports, briefings and visualisations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Travel frequently to Addis Ababa to liaise with field teams and partners.
- Ensure data quality, compliance with ethical standards and timely delivery of deliverables.
Required profile
- University degree in social sciences, geography, environmental studies or a related field.
- Experience in humanitarian or development research, preferably in East Africa.
- Strong analytical mindset with ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
