Associate Research Manager for Ethiopia, based in Kampala

About the role

IMPACT Initiatives is seeking an Associate Research Manager to support its REACH initiative in Ethiopia. Based in Kampala, Uganda, you will coordinate research cycles, oversee data collection, and contribute to analysis and reporting on humanitarian crises affecting the Horn of Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Implement IMPACT’s research methodology in Ethiopia, including survey design and field data collection.
• Manage and analyse quantitative and qualitative data, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
• Prepare draft reports, briefing notes and visualisations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate with the Research Manager and local partners, facilitating regular communication and data sharing.
• Travel frequently to Addis Ababa and field sites to supervise data collection and validate findings.

Required profile

• University degree in social sciences, development studies, geography or a related field.
• Experience working in humanitarian or development contexts, preferably in East Africa.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to work independently and under tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
