Branch Manager – Kampala

About the role

The Branch Manager will lead Uwezo Microfinance Limited’s Kamwokya branch, driving deposit growth, loan issuance and overall client acquisition. This role combines operational oversight with strategic marketing to strengthen the branch’s market presence while ensuring compliance and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Drive branch performance in deposits, loan issuance, and client growth.
• Oversee day‑to‑day branch operations, ensuring efficiency and policy compliance.
• Lead, mentor and motivate branch staff to achieve performance targets.
• Deliver excellent customer service and resolve client issues promptly.
• Manage branch risk, adhering to credit policies and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement local marketing strategies to expand Uwezo’s presence.
• Monitor financial performance of the branch and recommend improvements.
• Facilitate loan approvals and collections to maintain a healthy portfolio.
• Prepare regular performance reports for senior management.

Required profile

• Mid‑level professional with at least 36 months of experience in banking or micro‑finance operations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team and meet performance targets.
• Strong understanding of credit policies, regulatory compliance and risk management.
