Business Development Officer - Digital & Micro Loans

About the role

eTranzact Platform Limited, a leading African fintech company, is looking for a Business Development Officer – Digital & Micro Loans to drive the growth of its digital lending portfolio. The successful candidate will identify new business opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and promote payroll‑linked loans, financial wellness products, and digital lending solutions while supporting financial inclusion across Uganda.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure new business opportunities within the digital and micro‑lending market.
• Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, SMEs, financial institutions, and Primary Mortgage Lenders (PMLs).
• Develop and execute sales strategies to grow payroll‑linked loans, financial wellness products, and digital lending solutions.
• Conduct market research and analyze industry trends to inform business development strategies.
• Collaborate with internal teams to customize lending products that meet client needs.
• Prepare business proposals, negotiate partnerships, and close strategic deals.
• Oversee client onboarding and ensure compliance with Bank of Uganda KYC and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor business performance and provide regular reports to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in business development, sales, or relationship management within the financial services sector.
• Proven experience in digital lending, microfinance, or financial services.
• Strong understanding of digital lending products, KYC/AML requirements, and Uganda's financial regulatory environment.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, relationship management, and analytical skills.
• Membership in a relevant professional body or equivalent certification is an added advantage.
