Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

About the role

Salaam Bank Limited is looking for a strategic leader to head its information security and cybersecurity function. The Chief Information Security Officer will safeguard the bank’s data, systems, infrastructure and digital services, ensuring confidentiality, integrity and availability across all operations.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, assess, monitor and manage information‑security and cybersecurity risks.
• Develop and oversee the bank’s information‑security strategy, controls and policies.
• Ensure regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing are performed.
• Supervise vulnerability‑management activities and oversee endpoint and network security.
• Manage identity and access‑management controls and protect customer and organisational data.
• Oversee the Security Operations Centre (SOC), whether internally managed or outsourced.
• Monitor emerging threats, provide strategic guidance on risk management and promote security awareness across the bank.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Information Systems or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of senior‑level experience in information security or cybersecurity leadership.
• Strong understanding of information‑security risks, proactive approach to emerging threats and excellent analytical abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership, strategic thinking and risk‑management skills.
