Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

About the role

Jaribu Consult Ltd is seeking a Chief Technology Officer to define and execute its technology vision. Based in Kampala, the CTO will lead the design, development, and delivery of software solutions that support the company’s consulting services for the construction sector.

Key responsibilities

• Define the overall technology roadmap and align it with business objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and grow technical teams, establishing coding and architecture standards.
• Oversee software development projects, ensuring timely, high‑quality delivery.
• Collaborate with executive leadership on IT strategy, budgeting, and security compliance.
• Represent the technology function in client meetings and support pre‑sales activities.
• Evaluate new tools, platforms, and methodologies to drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in software development and system architecture.
• Proven track record in managing complex technology projects.
• Strong background in IT strategy, product development, and cloud‑based solutions.
• Demonstrated leadership of cross‑functional technical teams.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or related field; advanced degree is a plus.
