About the role
The Enabling Methods Senior Specialist ensures effective coordination, coherence and implementation of War Child’s Evidence‑Based Methods across a cluster of partners and countries. The role translates strategies into contextual support, oversees quality assurance, partner onboarding and adaptive learning to achieve high‑quality impact.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain cluster‑level oversight of thematic quality assurance for EBM integration, implementation and scaling by partners.
- Coordinate thematic support provided by Specialists, prioritize activities and advise on resource allocation.
- Lead adaptive learning cycles at cluster level, develop learning agendas and document lessons learned.
- Strengthen organisational and partner capacity through training, mentoring and scalable learning approaches.
- Represent War Child’s EBM portfolio externally, building reputation and contributing to sector policy discourse.
- Act as primary internal and external thematic focal point for the assigned cluster and oversee partnership engagement.
- Contribute to development of EBM partnership packages and learning materials.
- Support MEAL processes, ensure compliance with quality of care indicators and provide surge support in emergencies.
Required profile
- Relevant academic background or closely related field.
- Experience in the thematic area within humanitarian or post‑conflict contexts, including co‑creation with partners.
- Demonstrated experience in programme design, needs assessment, learning cycles and quality assurance.
- Experience developing methods, tools, guidelines, training and learning materials.
- Experience facilitating trainings, workshops and virtual learning.
- Fluency in English; additional languages such as Arabic, Dari, French, Spanish or Ukrainian are useful.

What we offer
- Open to internal candidates only.
- Position based in Kampala with responsibility for DRC, Uganda, CAR, South Sudan, Sudan and Chad.
- Locally contracted role with salary aligned to the applicable in‑country scale.
- No relocation support is provided.
