Cluster MHPSS Senior Specialist – Evidence‑Based Methods

About the role

The MHPSS Senior Specialist ensures effective coordination, coherence and implementation of War Child’s Evidence‑Based Methods across an assigned cluster of partners and countries. The role translates strategies, standards and methodologies into context‑relevant support, oversees quality assurance, partner onboarding, thematic guidance and adaptive learning, and may directly support countries or partners when required.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cluster‑level oversight of thematic quality assurance for EBM integration, implementation and scaling by partners.
• Coordinate thematic support among Specialists, prioritize activities and advise on resource allocation.
• Lead adaptive learning cycles for EBMs at cluster level, documenting lessons and informing practice.
• Strengthen partner capacity in MHPSS EBMs through training, mentoring and scalable learning approaches.
• Represent War Child’s EBM Care System portfolio externally, building sector credibility and influencing policy.
• Provide surge support in emergencies or priority contexts and lead cluster‑level reporting.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background or closely related field.
• Experience in MHPSS or related thematic area in humanitarian or post‑conflict contexts.
• Proven experience working with partners on co‑creation and delivery of programmes.
• Demonstrated experience in programme design, needs assessment, learning cycles and quality assurance.
• Experience developing methods, tools, guidelines, training and learning materials.
• Experience facilitating trainings, workshops and virtual learning; fluency in English.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of quality standards, evidence‑based programming and MEAL integration.
• Familiarity with digital collaboration and learning tools such as Mural, Miro, SharePoint and MS Teams.
