Coffee Trainee Program – Global Rotations

About the role

Volcafe is offering a two‑year trainee programme focused on the green coffee supply chain. The role is based in Kampala, Uganda, with the expectation that trainees will undertake global rotations across various functions of the coffee business.

Key responsibilities

• Complete core and elective rotation modules in sourcing/purchasing, production operations, quality, trading, logistics, sustainability and finance.
• Work closely with a programme sponsor and a network of expert mentors to acquire practical knowledge and skills.
• Deliver project work and contribute to day‑to‑day activities in each functional area.
• Successfully graduate from the programme to launch a career within Volcafe’s chosen functional field.

Required profile

• BA or MBA in Business, Finance, Economics or International Trade from a recognised institution.
• Business‑level proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Driver’s licence and a valid passport with unrestricted global travel.
• Citizen or permanent resident of Uganda, Tanzania or Kenya.
• Willingness to relocate internationally on short notice and to work flexible hours, including shift patterns during harvest periods.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with Power BI (desirable).
• Strong analytical and research abilities.
