Content Moderator (Trust and Safety Specialist)

About the role

The Content Moderator (Trust and Safety Specialist) ensures that user‑generated content on our platform complies with policies, legal standards, and community expectations. Working remotely, you will protect the online environment by reviewing text, images, and videos and taking decisive action on violations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and act on reported content across text, image, and video formats, focusing on high‑priority queues and edge cases.
• Monitor daily queues to detect emerging abuse patterns and promptly escalate to the Policy team.
• Provide feedback on moderation tool efficiency and suggest workflow improvements.
• Maintain a high accuracy rate (95%+) on moderation decisions.
• Participate in calibration sessions to ensure policy consistency.
• Investigate removal or suspension cases and make fair reinstatement determinations.
• Serve as a designated responder during “red alert” events such as graphic live streams or coordinated harassment campaigns.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in content moderation, trust & safety, or community management for a major tech/social media platform.
• Strong emotional resilience and proven strategies for digital wellness when reviewing disturbing content.
• Deep understanding of regional nuances, cultural sensitivities, and historical contexts.
• Ability to distinguish hate speech from protected political speech and violent extremism from documentary content.
• Track record of meeting quality metrics while processing high volumes (80‑100+ pieces per hour).
• Focused attention to detail during repetitive tasks.
