Country Director – Lead CBM Uganda Programme

About the role

The Country Director will lead CBM’s operations in Uganda, overseeing a programme budget of USD 3–10 million and ensuring high‑quality delivery of disability and inclusive development initiatives. The role combines strategic planning, financial oversight, stakeholder representation and team leadership to strengthen CBM’s impact and visibility in the country.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver CBM’s Disability and Inclusive Development work across Uganda.
• Lead the development and implementation of the Country Plan, ensuring alignment with CBM’s federation strategy.
• Maintain strong financial discipline, overseeing budgeting, controls and reporting.
• Identify programme opportunities that demonstrate CBM’s value and relevance.
• Promote CBM’s vision to external stakeholders and build effective partnerships.
• Represent CBM to government, donors, media and local communities to influence inclusive development agendas.
• Establish and maintain a high‑quality workforce.
• Carry out duties assigned by the Regional Hub Director.

Required profile

• At least 10 years professional experience, including 5 years in senior management within an INGO or international development organisation.
• Proven experience in strategic planning and oversight of complex programmes.
• Significant experience in organisational development, change management and capacity building.
• Strong financial management expertise, including budgeting, financial controls and grant management.
• Demonstrated success in advocacy, partnership development and influencing policy.
• Excellent people leadership skills in multicultural environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Identification with CBM’s Christian values and mandate.
