Country Director, Uganda

About the role

Christian Blind Mission (CBM) is seeking a Country Director to lead its operations in Uganda. The role involves managing a programme budget of USD 3–10 million, ensuring high‑quality delivery of disability and inclusive development initiatives, and strengthening CBM’s presence with key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor the Country Plan in line with CBM’s global strategy.
• Provide overall leadership for programme design, implementation, and evaluation.
• Maintain strong financial discipline and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
• Identify and pursue strategic programme opportunities that enhance CBM’s relevance.
• Represent CBM to donors, government authorities, partners, media and local communities.
• Coordinate the Board and Annual General Assembly according to Ugandan and CBM governance standards.
• Build and sustain a high‑quality, motivated workforce.
• Report to and collaborate with the Regional Hub Director.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in a senior management role within an INGO or international development organisation.
• Proven experience in strategic planning, programme oversight and organisational development.
• Strong background in financial management and reporting.
• Experience in disability, development or related sectors is preferred.
