About the role
The Country Finance Intern will support SNV’s finance team in Uganda, gaining hands‑on experience with daily cash handling, bank reconciliation, expenditure review and the use of the SAP accounting system. The placement is designed to provide practical learning while contributing to the efficient and accountable use of donor‑funded resources.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile daily cashbooks.
- Monitor bank accounts and prevent overdrafts.
- Coordinate end‑month cash counts and surprise cash counts.
- Review expenditure requests and receipts for accuracy, completeness and correct coding.
- Prepare compliant payment vouchers and audit expense reports.
- File and archive vouchers and supporting documents in chronological order.
- Retrieve accounting records for management, audits and third parties.
- Process transactions in the SAP accounting system in a timely manner.
