Country Manager – Uganda

About the role

The Country Manager will lead Chloride Exide Limited’s operations in Uganda, driving growth across the Battery, Solar and DAB divisions. Reporting to the Group, the role combines commercial strategy with operational oversight to deliver revenue, profit and market‑share targets.

Key responsibilities

• Translate Group strategy into a detailed Uganda business plan and ensure its execution.
• Achieve revenue, profit before tax and market‑share objectives for all product lines.
• Develop and optimise the route‑to‑market by strengthening distributors, dealers and key accounts.
• Identify new business opportunities and design growth initiatives.
• Manage financial performance, including PBT, cash flow, inventory, debtors and working capital.
• Drive operational excellence across sales, customer service, supply‑chain and support functions.
• Champion an exceptional customer experience and build strategic relationships with customers, partners and regulators.
• Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing senior team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and corporate governance requirements.

Required profile

• Executive‑level professional with at least 12 years of senior management experience.
• Proven track record of delivering revenue and profit growth in a B2B environment.
• Strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking and ability to translate strategy into results.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and change‑management capabilities.
• Experience in the energy, battery or solar sectors is preferred.
