Data Quality Specialist – DART Project

About the role

The Data Quality Specialist will lead DART’s effort to improve data quality across Uganda’s national health information systems. Based in Kampala, the role works closely with the Ministry of Health to ensure data is accurate, complete, consistent and timely, supporting evidence‑based decision making.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of data quality frameworks for priority national systems.
• Strengthen automated data validation processes and create feedback loops to improve source systems.
• Conduct MOH‑led data quality reviews, perform root‑cause analysis and coordinate corrective actions at facility and district levels.
• Collaborate with data engineering, health informatics and IT teams to align data standards and governance.
• Provide technical guidance for the National Data Warehouse, Health Information Exchange and EMR readiness initiatives.
• Travel nationally to support regional teams and monitor data quality improvements on site.

Required profile

• Current work authorization to work in Uganda (no visa sponsorship).
• Proven experience leading data quality initiatives in large‑scale information systems.
• Willingness and ability to travel across Uganda and work on‑site in Kampala.
