Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs – Senior University Leadership

About the role

The Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs will lead the university’s academic portfolio, driving quality, innovation and compliance across teaching, research and curriculum development. Reporting directly to the Vice‑Chancellor, the role shapes strategic direction and strengthens inter‑institutional collaborations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all academic affairs, including curriculum development, review, regulatory submissions and quality assurance.
• Coordinate planning, forecasting and budgeting for the Academic Division.
• Monitor higher‑education trends, legislation and best practices, and implement relevant changes.
• Lead research, grants and innovation offices, and promote fundraising and community outreach initiatives.
• Chair the Scholarship Committee and serve ex‑officio on the University Council and its committees.

Required profile

• PhD degree (minimum).
• At least four years in a senior administrative leadership role such as Dean or higher.
• Minimum ten years of experience in university teaching and research, with proven curriculum development and fundraising expertise.
• Demonstrated record of publications in reputable journals.
• High integrity, professionalism and commitment to community service.
