Driver for Child‑Centered Community Development Program

About the role

The driver will provide safe, timely, and reliable transportation for staff, visitors, and materials to support the Child‑Centered Community Development (CCCD) program in Upper Madi Okollo.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate weekly transport schedules, manage staff transport requests, and provide airport pick‑ups and drop‑offs.
• Assist with loading/unloading materials, support logistical needs during field activities, and ensure compliance with traffic laws, safety standards, and child safeguarding policies.
• Maintain the vehicle in a clean, road‑worthy condition, conduct daily checks, record mileage, fuel and trips, and ensure timely servicing, insurance renewal and inspections.
• Support office logistics such as postage, collection of purchases, and timely handling of correspondence.
• Promote and enforce child safeguarding, protection and PSEA policies, and report any concerns according to organizational guidelines.

Required profile

• Minimum Uganda Certificate of Education.
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean record.
• At least five years experience driving four‑wheel vehicles.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and basic first‑aid skills.
• Commitment to ZOA’s Christian values and child‑safeguarding principles.

Required skills

• Defensive driving and safety awareness.
• Vehicle maintenance and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
• First‑aid readiness.
