Economic Recovery Coordinator

About the role

The Economic Recovery Coordinator will work closely with DRC Uganda’s coordination and implementation teams to provide technical support, capacity building and coaching for economic recovery activities across food security, livelihoods, market systems and financial inclusion.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical advisory and lead the development and rollout of the economic recovery technical strategy, ensuring alignment with community needs and innovation.
• Support the Head of Programme in creating and reviewing the Country Programme Strategy and supervise the development of the Country Economic Recovery strategy.
• Deliver capacity‑building, coaching and monitoring for cash‑based assistance and market‑system approaches, and produce SOPs, guidelines and learning products.
• Conduct sector analysis, capacity‑gap assessments and support recruitment of qualified technical staff.
• Represent DRC in sector working groups, engage donors, NGOs and government, and lead fundraising and partnership initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of practical humanitarian experience in food security, livelihoods, agriculture or financial inclusion.
• Master’s degree in political science, international development, economics or related field.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing cash‑based assistance programmes and market‑based interventions.
• Full professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
