Education Officer (NO-2) – Temporary Appointment

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an Education Officer (NO‑2) for a temporary appointment in Arua, Uganda. The role supports the expansion of quality education and skills development for adolescents, helping them overcome barriers and build resilient futures.

Key responsibilities

• Support programme development, planning and design of education interventions.
• Manage programme implementation, monitoring, and delivery of results.
• Provide technical and operational guidance to field teams.
• Build and maintain partnerships with schools, local authorities, NGOs and other stakeholders.
• Promote innovation, knowledge management and capacity‑building activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Economics, Sociology or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in adolescent development, education programme planning, monitoring & evaluation, partnership development or related areas.
• Strong communication, planning and results‑focused abilities.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of another UN language or a local language is an asset.
