Education Technical Assistant – Kampala & Southwest

About the role

The Education Technical Assistant will monitor and report on project activities, ensure compliance with NRC standards, work with community education committees, distribute school materials, and promote safe, inclusive, gender‑responsive learning environments.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of Life Skills, Digital Skills and i‑UPSHIFT activities in assigned locations.
• Assist in organising trainings, workshops, coaching sessions, community meetings and innovation events.
• Collect routine monitoring data from schools and TVET institutions and maintain attendance registers, assessment records and learner portfolios.
• Update programme databases, tracking tools and document success stories, case studies and lessons learned.
• Provide supervision and support to teachers and instructors, suggest new methods to improve activity quality and report protection‑related concerns.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Minimum three years of teaching experience, preferably in humanitarian or recovery contexts.
• Experience working on education projects in complex and volatile settings.
• Good knowledge of English; ability to speak local languages is an advantage.
• Understanding of Uganda’s education system and ability to work with refugees and host communities.
• Self‑driven and able to work with minimal supervision.
