Electrical Technician

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Technician to join our Kampala facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems and equipment that power our packaging production lines.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose electrical faults and perform corrective and preventive maintenance on machinery.
• Interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical manuals to guide maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to minimise downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Assist with equipment upgrades and recommend improvements for reliability and energy efficiency.

Required profile

• Strong practical experience in industrial electrical installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery and control systems.
• Ability to read and apply electrical diagrams, schematics and technical manuals.
• Solid understanding of electrical safety standards and lockout/tag‑out procedures.
• Relevant technical certification or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology or related field.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Kampala, including shift work and urgent maintenance calls.
• Previous experience in a packaging, manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
