Electrical Utility Manager

About the role

Amentum is looking for an Electrical Utility Manager to support a unique US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The manager will ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all electrical utility systems, while maintaining strict compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain engine‑driven generators (≥1,000 kW) and associated medium‑voltage equipment.
• Oversee electrical distribution and switchgear systems to guarantee uninterrupted power supply.
• Implement and manage a Quality Management System, including accident and incident investigations.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with OSHA, electrical codes, and contract requirements.
• Lead a team of technical personnel, scheduling preventive maintenance and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with stakeholders such as the Contracting Officer and verify contractor qualifications.
• Enforce the use of personal protective equipment and promote a zero‑injury environment.

Required profile

• Minimum five (5) years of documented experience with 1,000 kW+ engine‑driven generators and medium‑voltage systems.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience with electrical distribution systems.
• Proven ability to manage QMS, conduct risk assessments, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Experience supervising technical teams in a utility or industrial setting.
